An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Avro Lancaster heavy bomber in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. The model allows the Mk.I or the Mk.III version to be built and offers a finely engraved surface, a detailed cockpit, clear turret parts and a well-worked bomb bay.
The Avro Lancaster was the most successful British heavy bomber of the Second World War. The four-engine machine with its capacious bomb bay formed the backbone of the RAF night bomber force and became famous among other things for demanding raids on German targets. The Mk.I and Mk.III versions differed mainly in the engines used and were otherwise almost identical.
We recommend finishing the interior, the cockpit and the gun turrets first and only then closing the fuselage up. Glue the clear parts with cement for transparent plastics. A model of this size is best painted with an airbrush; finish the typical night camouflage with a fine wash and restrained weathering of the engine nacelles.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
