The printed cockpit 1:72 Lockheed-Martin F-35B Lightning cockpit (3D-Printed) from Eduard replaces the pilot's compartment of the vertical-landing machine with a finely rendered assembly.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces the cockpit of a model with an assembly printed as one piece: the tub, the instrument section and the ejection seat. This is not an aircraft model but interior fittings, which are seated in place of the parts from the base kit. According to the manufacturer the package holds, besides the printed parts, decals and pre-painted photo-etched elements as well, so the instrument panel and the seat belts manage without laborious hand painting.
The F-35B is the version capable of short takeoff and vertical landing. Above its center of gravity it carries a lift fan driven from the engine, which together with a swiveling nozzle holds the aircraft in a hover, so it can operate from short strips and from the decks of smaller ships. The cockpit is laid out as a single large touchscreen with no classic gauges, and the pilot sits in an ejection seat of a newer generation.
Rid the print of its supports under a magnifier and smooth the faces left behind with very fine paper: the walls are thin and will stand little force. Test the tub dry in the fuselage; now and then the sides have to be thinned so that a fuselage half beds down without a gap. Spray a dark gray base, pick the edges out with a lighter tone applied with an almost dry brush and then unify the surfaces with a flat varnish. Glue the pre-painted photo-etch in spots using clear PVA glue, which will not dull the surroundings. Finish the cockpit before the fuselage is closed.
The package covers the interior fittings of the cockpit only; further materials are up to you.
