A kit of the Lockheed PV-1 Ventura patrol bomber in 1:72 scale from Academy.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the twin-engine Lockheed PV-1 Ventura patrol and naval bomber in 1:72 scale from Academy. It is a proven older mold, so expect a simpler breakdown of the parts than the very latest kits offer. Check the exact contents of the box and the number of marking schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Lockheed PV-1 Ventura was a twin-engine patrol bomber derived from the Lockheed Model 18 Lodestar airliner. It was powered by two powerful Pratt & Whitney radial engines and the aircraft had strong armament and a high speed. In the Second World War the US Navy used it widely for maritime patrols, anti-submarine operations and bombing; it also served with allied air forces.
With an older mold it pays to check the mating surfaces and to be ready for a little filling and sanding of the joints. Separate the parts with a knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Cover the glazing of the numerous canopies with masks and paint the interior before closing the fuselage. An airbrush suits the US Navy schemes; a base primer will reveal any flaws in the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
