A kit of the German two-seat LVG C.VI reconnaissance biplane of the First World War in 1:72 scale, on the theme of machines in German service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LVG C.VI is a German two-seat biplane of the end of the First World War, intended for reconnaissance and for directing artillery fire. It belonged to the class of armed two-seaters: the pilot sat in front and behind him the observer with a movable machine gun on a ring mount. Compared with the older types of the same family the machine was smaller and lighter, which helped it keep up in performance with the fighters of the day. The lifting structure was formed by a pair of wings joined by struts and bracing wires.
The qualifier in the name points to machines in German service, that is to the theme from which the choice of markings in the package proceeds. Which particular machines and which schemes the instructions offer is to be checked in the enclosed instruction sheet, because it differs between individual releases of the same model.
A biplane is built differently from a single-wing model. First finish and paint the interior of the cockpit, then the lower wing, and only at the end set the upper wing onto the struts, which have to be aligned both vertically and horizontally. The bracing wires are added to the model with your own material, usually thin filament or wire; pierce the attachment points in advance, while the parts are still freely accessible. German machines of the last year of the war often carried a fabric covering with a pattern of irregular polygons, which on a model is handled with a decal sheet and calls for a smooth gloss base.
Paints, glue, material for the bracing wires and add-on sets are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
