M4A3 with deep wading trunks 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the landing version of the Sherman from UM.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit captures the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank fitted with tall deep wading trunks in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model from UM, usually complemented by a small photo-etched fret and a decal sheet. Link-and-length track links and separate running gear parts tend to be part of the set.
The wading trunks were tall sheet-metal stacks fitted to the engine intake and exhaust, which let the tank drive through deep water when landing on a shore without flooding the engine compartment. Once the tank was ashore, the trunks were jettisoned. Vehicles modified in this way were used in amphibious landings.
The tall trunks are small, fragile parts, so give attention to their alignment and to gluing them cleanly. Finish the running gear first, then close the hull and fit the trunks. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and spray with an airbrush over a primer; washes and dust or silt pigments reminiscent of a landing will set the olive drab color off.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
