The New Ware 1:72 DH Vampire T.11 and J-28 BASIC mask set is the basic step of the range for the glazing. In a small scale it solves the thin frames that practically cannot be cut by hand.

The basic step of the mask range from the manufacturer New Ware in 1:72 scale. The package holds machine-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing, shaped to the parts of the particular Airfix kit. The designation covers the two-seat trainer version of the type as well as its Swedish form.
The Vampire was one of the first generation of jet airplanes and you will recognize it by the short fuselage nacelle and the twin tail booms. The two-seat trainer version has a wider cockpit for two crew members seated side by side. In Sweden the type was introduced under the home designation J-28.
In 1:72 scale the width of a cockpit frame often works out at less than one millimeter. Cutting such a strip from tape by hand is a lottery even for an experienced modeler, and an inaccuracy of a tenth of a millimeter shows on the finished model at once, because the frame is either twice as wide as the one next to it or almost missing. A machine-cut mask removes this problem entirely. Work with sharp tweezers and good light, because the pieces are small and easily lost; it helps to have a light, untextured surface to hand. Lay the paint on really thinly, or a heavy coat will visually widen a narrow frame.
This is a stand-alone mask set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
