1:72 Mask MiG-25RBT BASIC (ICM 72172)

New Ware 1:72 Mask MiG-25RBT BASIC

A self-adhesive mask set for the model of the reconnaissance airplane MiG-25RBT in 1:72 scale. The masks are machine-cut to the shape of the parts of the ICM 72172 kit. The BASIC designation places the set at the beginning of the offer: it is the smallest of the three steps New Ware offers for this model.

The BASIC step in practice

The BASIC, ADVANCED and EXPERT steps do not differ in how demanding the work is, but in the extent of the set. BASIC covers the main glazed areas, that is what everyone needs to mask during a build. If you are building the model without further modifications and can manage the masking of the rest with tape yourself, BASIC is the most sensible choice. Anyone who wants further elements prepared in advance as well reaches for one of the higher steps.

The real subject

The MiG-25 is a twin-engine airplane designed for flight at high speeds and great altitudes, with airframes made largely of steel. The RBT version belongs to the reconnaissance-bomber forms of the type and carries the corresponding equipment in the forward part of the fuselage. The cockpit has flat glass, on which every frame edge that is not led accurately stands out.

How to achieve a clean edge

• Degrease the glazing and do not touch it with your fingers.
• Lay the mask on dry, check its position and only then press it down.
• Go over the edge with a wooden stick, not with a metal tool.
• Spray perpendicular and in two passes, as seepage arises mainly with an angled coat.
• Take the masks off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.

Who the set is for

• Modelers who are building the model straight out of the box with no further modifications.
• Those looking for a straightforward way to crisp cockpit frames.
• Beginners for whom cutting tape is a needless obstacle.

This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
