Eduard Brassin 1:72 MER is a resin set of the MER (Multiple Ejector Rack) bomb rack supplemented with photo-etched parts. It is an aftermarket accessory for the stores of aircraft models, not a stand-alone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from Eduard renders the MER multiple ejector rack faithfully in 1:72 scale. It combines resin castings with photo-etched parts that give the rack fine detail unreachable in injection-molded plastic. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for hanging armament realistically under the wings and the fuselage.
The MER is a multiple rack that allowed several bombs or other weapons to be carried on a single pylon. It was used on Western jet aircraft from the 1960s, among others on machines such as the F-4 Phantom II, the A-4 Skyhawk and the A-7 Corsair II. It was racks like these that let combat aircraft carry heavy mixed loads of armament.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks. Bend the photo-etched parts exactly along the etched lines and glue them with super glue just like the resin. Protect your airways when sanding. We recommend assembling the whole rack dry first and checking how the bombs sit before gluing anything permanently.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The basic kit, the armament, glue and paints are not included in the package.
