A photo-etched accessory set for a model of the Messerschmitt Me 410 A-1/U-2 in 1:72 scale. It replaces and adds the fine details that cannot be produced in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Me 410 was a German twin-engine combat aircraft of the closing stages of the Second World War with a crew of two. It came about as a reworking of the earlier and troublesome Me 210, from which it differed in the modified rear fuselage, and it was powered by a pair of piston engines. It was committed against enemy bomber formations and also to fast attacks on ground targets. The U-2 suffix in the version designation refers to the factory armament conversion that aircraft of this series received according to the task they were given.
These are photo-etched parts made from thin sheet metal for a model in 1:72 scale. Photo-etched parts are used wherever a plastic part is necessarily thicker than the real thing, that is on instrument panels, seat belts, grilles, covers and other fine features. The extent of the set, the purpose of the individual parts and the kit the set is prepared for are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than breaking them off, so that the metal does not twist. Make the bends along the marked grooves, ideally in a photo-etch bending tool or between two rulers. They are bonded with super glue applied in a minute amount. First clear the spot where the etched part goes of its original plastic detail and level it off. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The aircraft model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
