A turned metal pitot tube for the MiG-21 F-13 (Fishbed C) in 1:72 scale from the Polish maker MASTER, a precise replacement for the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal detail set, not a model of the aircraft. The turned brass pitot tube replaces the inaccurate plastic part from the MiG-21 F-13 kit in 1:72 scale. The metal version has more faithful geometry and a sharper tip and is considerably tougher than thin injection-molded plastic, which is easily damaged during the build and on display. A faithful probe visibly lifts the whole impression of the nose.
The MiG-21 F-13 (Fishbed C in the NATO code) was one of the early production versions of the Soviet light supersonic fighter MiG-21. It was a light and agile day interceptor with its armament concentrated in the nose and under the fuselage. It carried the characteristic nose pitot tube, of which this set offers a faithful metal version.
Cut off the plastic tube, drill a hole of the right diameter and glue the metal part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the brass before painting and cover it with a primer. The part is small in 1:72 scale, so work with tweezers.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
