This resin detail set brings landing gear wheels together with paint masks for a model of the Soviet MiG-21F-13 fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model, but an accessory with which you replace the simplified wheels from the plastic kit with more faithful castings with fine relief of the tire tread and the hubs. The masks supplied make it easy to separate the tire from the hub cleanly when painting.
The MiG-21F-13 was one of the first production versions of the famous Soviet supersonic delta-wing fighter. It was marked by light construction, high speed and armament combining a cannon with short-range guided missiles. The type became one of the most widespread jet fighters of the Cold War and served in dozens of countries.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Stick the paint masks supplied onto the hub, spray the tire in a rubber shade and peel them off once dry — a crisp transition between hub and tire is the result.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin part. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
