Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Nakajima Ki-43-II Hayabusa fighter, given the Allied code name Oscar, in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. It is a proven Japanese mold with finely rendered surfaces that faithfully captures the slim lines of this light fighter.
The Ki-43 Hayabusa (falcon) was the main fighter of the Japanese Army Air Force. The Ki-43-II version received a more powerful engine, a shorter wing, better armor for the pilot and self-sealing fuel tanks. The aircraft excelled in agility and rate of climb but was only lightly armed and gradually lost ground against the later Allied fighters. It served on all the Asian and Pacific battlefields until the end of the war.
Work with thin cement for plastic, and finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close up the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and put the paint on with an airbrush. A natural metal finish or the Japanese green camouflage scheme are typical. Apply the hinomaru decals over a gloss base, and add the patina with light washes and a little paint rubbed back on the leading edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
