A set from the SPACE line of the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for a model of the OV-10A Bronco observation and light attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. These are pre-colored 3D decals, that is printed elements with relief, that are applied to the cockpit parts and replace painting small details by hand. It is not a kit or a conventional photo-etched set.
The OV-10 Bronco was a twin-boom aircraft with two turboprop engines, designed for observation, fire control and light attack tasks. It had excellent visibility from its glazed cockpit, a short takeoff and landing, and it could operate from unprepared strips. The OV-10A version served with the US Air Force and the Marine Corps. It is precisely the glazed cockpit that is the reason why it pays to give the interior attention on models of this type: through the large glazed areas you can see more inside than on an ordinary fighter.
The procedure differs from conventional wet decals. The elements are cut or lifted off the sheet one part at a time and applied to a smooth, previously painted surface; before applying them it is advisable to degrease the area. No decal softener goes under a part, as it would deform the relief. Press the panels into place with a soft tool, not with a fingernail. The color print already contains the shades and the shading, so nothing is varnished over it apart from spot fixing with flat varnish. The work is fine and tweezers and a magnifier come in useful.
