NATO Green is a dark green shifted toward gray that NATO armies use as the base of the three-tone camouflage of combat vehicles. The scheme combines green, brown and black in irregular fields and since the 1980s it has replaced the older single-color finishes. The green takes up the largest area in it, so it is the green that sets the overall impression of a model. The number FS 34094 comes from the American standard Federal Standard 595, in which the first digit denotes the degree of gloss; a three at the start means a matte finish.
On tanks, armored personnel carriers, artillery and trucks of NATO armies from the 1980s onwards. It also suits crates, jerrycans and other equipment lying around a vehicle in a diorama, because that was sprayed with the same paint too. The shade can also be used as a dark base under a lighter overtone, which in larger scales suggests a surface bleached by the sun.
Stir the contents of the pot thoroughly before use, do not just shake it. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are given by the manufacturer on the package; follow those instructions. Apply several light coats; with dark greens a single heavy coat fills the engraving of the panel lines and the surface is left without any definition. A matte surface is more prone to fingerprints, so handle the model after spraying with gloves or by its base.
The model, thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
