Eduard P-51D-10 Mustang LooK 1:72 - a quick route to a well-drawn cockpit for the mid production run of the legendary fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This LooK set from Eduard is aimed at the instrument panel of the Mustang from the D-10 production block. It is not a kit in its own right but an interior accessory: under the Mustang's frameless canopy the cockpit stays permanently in view, and a cleanly rendered instrument panel does more for the overall impression than many an external detail. The item matches kits in 1:72 scale.
The P-51D fighter came about as the answer to the need for long-range escort of bomber formations, and it also made its mark in the fighting in the Pacific and in postwar service with the air forces of many countries. The D-10 production block followed on from the first production machines; on aircraft of this period the dorsal fillet ahead of the vertical tail, which improved directional stability, was already standard. The cockpit combined flight instruments with the controls for the armament and the fuel system.
Finish and weather the cockpit tub first, and only then glue the panel in - spraying afterwards would ruin the detail. A work magnifier helps, as does applying the glue in spots with a toothpick. If you build with the canopy closed, consider polishing it so that the panel stays easy to read.
