The Eduard 1:72 steel photo-etched set for the P-51D Mustang holds, according to its name, the tail antenna fit for a model of the famous American fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small item from the range of the brand Eduard, whose contents the name narrows down to the antenna elements at the tail. The steel designation means that the sheet is springier and stronger than the usual brass, so thin projections hold their shape and do not bend so easily while a finished model is handled. It is one of the smallest items in the whole metal range.
The North American P-51D was the most widespread production version of the Mustang. It brought a cut-down rear fuselage and a teardrop canopy that opened up the pilot's view aft, and six machine guns in the wing. Thanks to its great range it escorted the daylight bomber formations deep over enemy territory and became one of the symbols of the closing phase of the war in Europe. The small antenna elements at the tail are among the details that come out too thick in plastic.
Work over a light mat with a raised edge so that a cut-off piece does not escape. Use tweezers with flat jaws, as pointed tips flick thin steel away. Apply the glue to the model, not to the part. Once dry, run a thin coat of varnish over the joint, which closes the transition.
