This set does not belong on an airplane model but beside it. The Palouste is a small gas turbine that served as a source of compressed air for starting jet engines. It was carried on an airfield trolley to which the aircraft was connected by a hose; there was also a version in a pod that could be taken along. The set contains both variants, as the name gives — the trolley and the pod version.
A model of an aircraft on a bare base is still only a model of an aircraft. As soon as you add a starter trolley, a hose and some traces of use, a scene appears that has a story: the machine is getting ready to start. Ground equipment is also practical — it is small, it goes together quickly and it will serve on several models, because equipment of this kind was used on airfields for decades and across types. For a diorama, or just for a base with a single aircraft, it is one of the simplest ways to move the result on.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces by sanding, with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). On the trolley it pays to check that all the wheels stand on one plane — a trolley that rocks shows up on a diorama at once. You can easily make the connecting hose from soft wire covered in thin insulation. Painting ground equipment takes more wear than an aircraft does: a primer, the base color, scuffed edges suggested with a fine brush and finally dust and oil stains with pigments. It is exactly that contrast between a tidy aircraft and battered equipment that makes a scene believable.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
