Responsibility details are not available.
Two Soviet medium-range guided missiles, kept in the West under the code AA-10 Alamo C, will complete the underwing or fuselage pylons of a model in 1:72 scale. The letter E in the designation belongs to the extended form, which differs from the basic missile at first glance.
The R-27 family came into being in the nineteen-eighties as the main weapon of the MiG-29 and Su-27 machines for combat beyond visual range. The ER form received a bulkier and noticeably longer motor, thanks to which it reaches a target substantially farther than the starting variant. It was carried mainly by the heavier Su-27, which had the room for a large missile and an onboard radar with the corresponding range. The guidance is handled by a semi-active radar seeker head, so the carrier has to illuminate the target practically until the hit and cannot break away immediately after launch. An unmissable feature of the whole series is the butterfly-shaped destabilizing surfaces on the forward part of the body.
The long slender body is delicate and prone to bending during handling, so check the part against a straight edge once unpacked and straighten any bow by warming it carefully. Glue the missiles on only once the pylons are sprayed, or you will have poor access with a brush into the shadow. The body holds a light gray-blue tone and the seeker head tends to be darker; the transition between them comes out sharp only over masking tape pressed down with a fingernail.
This is accessory armament for an aviation kit. The chemicals for building and spraying you obtain separately.
