An injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario fighter in 1:72 scale from RS Models. It is a short-run kit, and as is typical of these, the parts need more careful cleanup and dry-fitting — it therefore suits more experienced modelers. The exact contents of the package and the number of marking schemes are given in the manufacturer's catalog.
The Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario was the peak of the Reggiane line of Italian fighters and is usually counted among the Serie 5 Italian fighters with powerful V12 engines. It was one of the most handsome fighters of the Second World War, but it entered combat late and in small numbers. Among other duties it was used in the defense of Rome, Naples and Sicily. It carried a combination of cannon and machine guns.
Cut the parts from the sprues and clean them up and dry-fit them carefully before gluing — with short-run kits this decides the result. Glue them with a thin modeling cement for plastic. Paint and highlight the cockpit before closing the fuselage, and mask the clear glazing. Apply primer and paint with an airbrush, put the decals on over a gloss coat and bring out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
