This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not an airplane model. The set brings thin metal parts that replace or supplement the details of a plastic model of the Republic F-105D Thunderchief fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale. Thanks to photo-etch, places such as the instrument panel, the cockpit and fine external features gain a crispness that injected plastic cannot reach in this scale.
The Republic F-105D Thunderchief was a single-seat supersonic fighter-bomber of the American forces, a heavy and fast machine used above all during the Vietnam War for strike operations. It stood out for its large bomb load and its high speed at low level.
The parts are separated with a sharp knife or photo-etch scissors and shaped with tweezers. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The color elements only have to be attached, while bare metal parts are painted after assembly. Trying the parts dry beforehand is worth the time.
This is a stand-alone accessory for detailing. The aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
