1:72 RF-80/P-80 Shooting Star National Insignia serves for laying the stars and additional markings on with an airbrush on the first American jet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
Instead of decals the American markings are laid on in paint, so the finished surface stays uniform and the edge of a transparent film is not outlined anywhere. The set allows for the fighter and the reconnaissance form of the machine in 1:72 scale.
The Lockheed P-80 came about in an incredibly short time under the lead of the designer Kelly Johnson and reached combat units at the very close of the Second World War. It went through its real trial by fire only in Korea, where in November 1950 it went down in history with the first confirmed shooting down of a jet aircraft by a jet aircraft. The photographic RF-80 version received a camera nose in place of the gun armament and photographed the terrain ahead of advancing units. From the airframe grew the legendary T-33 trainer as well, which flew with a number of armed forces even after the turn of the millennium.
The natural metal surface typical of this type reveals every irregularity, so smooth the area under the insignia with a fine sanding sponge pad. Then lead the paint square to the edge of a mask and rather in several passes. If the model is to get a polished shade, leave the markings right to the end, so that a later clear coat does not take the gloss off them.
It is supplied as a separate accessory for painting with no plastic parts.
