Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet JS-3 (IS-3) heavy tank in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model has fine engraved detail and a large number of parts including small ones, and the hull captures the characteristic wedge-shaped front. The tracks are of the flexible (vinyl) type, and a decal sheet for two vehicles is included.
The JS-3 was a Soviet heavy tank from the end of the Second World War, named after Joseph Stalin. It was marked by a hull front shaped strongly into a wedge, known as the pike nose, and by a low hemispherical turret; both improved its resistance to a hit. It carried a massive 122 mm gun. Although it practically never saw action in the fighting of the Second World War, its low silhouette and shaped armor had a marked influence on the postwar development of heavy tanks. It was first shown in public at the parade in Berlin and attracted great attention.
Given the higher number of parts, assemble the running gear and the wheels carefully before you close the hull. Use liquid cement, a primer and an airbrush; you will bring the typically green finish to life with dark washes into the joints and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear and the sides.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
