This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the later form of the Soviet BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher. The package contains parts on several sprues, the cab and rubber tires, and decals for depicting a vehicle in service are enclosed. The model is built from more than fifty parts.
The BM-21 Grad is a Soviet 122 mm multiple rocket launcher that entered service at the start of the 1960s as a replacement for older systems. The later form carried a forty-tube launcher on a 6x6 off-road truck chassis. The system spread to many armies and, in various upgrades, serves to this day; it is used for area fire support.
Finish the chassis and the running gear before closing up the body. Use thin cement for plastic, apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush. For a faithful look, picking out the panels with a wash and using pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis both work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
