An injection-molded plastic kit, the Trumpeter Russian T-62 BDD Mod.1984 tank with applique armor, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet, later Russian, T-62 main battle tank in its modernized BDD Mod.1984 form from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The BDD version is marked by conspicuous applique armor on the turret and the nose. In the smaller 1:72 scale this is a kit that builds well, with a reasonable number of parts, suitable even for modelers who are starting out with armor.
The T-62 was a Soviet main battle tank of the Cold War that appeared in the middle of the 1960s as a rearmored and rearmed successor to the T-55. It carried a 115mm smoothbore gun. The BDD modernization of the 1980s added layered applique armor to the turret and the nose, known in slang as the eyebrows, which improved resistance against anti-tank missiles. T-62s modified in this way served for a long time after more modern types had been introduced.
In the smaller 1:72 scale take care to clean the flash off the small parts properly. Assemble and paint the running gear first. For weathering use fine washes into the recesses and restrained dust pigments - in a small scale sparing weathering looks more realistic. Bring the shaped applique armor out with a fine dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
