This set is a resin accessory in 1:72 scale, not an airplane model. It replaces the shallow landing gear spaces (wheel bays) of an SB2C Helldiver plastic kit with a deep resin casting carrying well-defined ribbing, runs of piping and wall structure. Faithful bays markedly raise the realism of a model when it is seen from below. The set is meant for more experienced modelers.
The Curtiss SB2C Helldiver was an American carrier-based dive bomber deployed in the later part of the Second World War, which gradually replaced older types of carrier bombers. It was a sturdy machine with a powerful radial engine and spacious landing gear bays whose detail stands out easily on a model.
These are resin parts for advanced builders. Wash the castings to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with airway protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It pays to paint and weather the bays before the airframe is closed.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
