A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. This set of finely cast resin sharpens up the characteristic perforated flaps of the American Douglas SBD Dauntless carrier-based dive bomber in 1:72 scale. The perforated dive brakes and landing flaps were one of the recognition marks of this machine, and in resin they can be rendered with faithful holes, which are only hard to produce in plastic. The set is meant for more advanced modelers with experience of resin.
Lowered perforated flaps give a static model dynamism at once and faithfully suggest a machine in action. The casting captures the fine texture, the thin edges and the perforation that are typical of the Dauntless and hard to achieve from solid plastic. Once painted and lightly weathered, the transitions between the wing and the flap look entirely natural.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
