Eduard Steel Belts for Soviet Second World War Fighters 1:72 is a set of color photo-etched seat belts in steel for the cockpits of models of Soviet fighters of the Second World War. It is not a model but a detail accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Eduard set in 1:72 scale holds photo-etched seat belts in steel (STEEL) for the cockpits of plastic models of Soviet fighters of the Second World War. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a color-printed detail accessory that replaces the missing or simplified belts in the seat and markedly lifts the realism of the cockpit. The steel version holds its shape after bending better than brass.
Soviet fighters of the Second World War used seat harnesses matching the standard of the day. The cockpits of Soviet fighters tended to be fairly plain, which makes faithfully shaped belts stand out all the more in them. They are among the most conspicuous details of a cockpit and, where the cockpit is clearly visible, they markedly improve the overall impression of a model.
Separate the individual belts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface. The steel material holds its shape well, so shape the belts into a realistic sag over the edge of the seat. Color-printed belts are not normally varnished; it is enough to blend them gently with their surroundings and, if you like, pick out a buckle. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on metal. Work with tweezers and good lighting.
The package holds only the photo-etched belts. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
