A resin detail set from the Czech maker Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit, but a faithful replacement for the SJU-17 ejection seat for a model of the American F/A-18E Super Hornet carrier fighter. The casting carries fine detail of the harness, the firing handles and the headrest that a plastic seat cannot manage, and it is usually completed with pre-printed or photo-etched belts.
The SJU-17 is a modern ejection seat used in the carrier aircraft of the US Navy, among them the Super Hornet. It allows the pilot to escape across the whole speed range and on the ground. In an open cockpit it is clearly visible and is among the striking details of a model.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A seat comes out once a base coat is laid down, the cushions and straps are set apart in color and the details are gently brought out with a wash.
This is a detail set, not an airplane model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
