Replacement exhaust stubs in the fishtail configuration for a model of the Spitfire Mk. XIV in 1:72 scale. They replace the parts from the kit in a place that is clearly visible on a finished model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk. XIV is a late version of the British fighter in which the more potent Rolls-Royce Griffon, a V12, works in place of the Merlin. With it the whole nose changed: it is longer and more massive, the propeller gained five blades, and the arrangement of the exhausts on the sides of the engine section looks different too. And the exhausts are visible from close up on a model, because they lie roughly at the viewer's eye level and nothing covers them.
Replacement exhaust stubs for 1:72 scale in the configuration that the name calls fishtail, that is with the outlet flared into a flat shape. They replace the parts from the kit, on which the outlet tends to be blanked off or only suggested with a dimple; an open, thin-walled outlet shows on a finished model at once. The QB code places the item in the Quickboost range. How many parts the package holds and which kit it is prepared for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene and cement for plastic models will not join them, so use super glue. Cut surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down so that the stub seats in its recess in the fuselage without a gap. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on them. Try the fit dry and watch that the row of stubs sits at the same height on both sides and points back at the same angle.
An accessory for a build is supplied. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
