Quickboost Spitfire Mk.XIV - round exhausts 1:72 are a resin replacement for the exhaust stubs of the round type. It is a detail accessory for models of the Spitfire Mk.XIV in 1:72 scale, not an aircraft model.

The detail set from the Czech manufacturer Quickboost (the Aires workshop) replaces the plastic exhausts of a Spitfire Mk.XIV model with a set of accurately cast resin exhaust stubs of the round type. On good resin exhausts the outlets of the individual stubs are suggested or hollowed out, which gives the engine section a more realistic look. The set is a replacement part, not a stand-alone model.
The exhausts are among the best visible details of the forward part of an aircraft. The round type corresponds to a particular version of the Griffon engine; a cast replacement has a finer shape and finer edges than injection-molded plastic and, once painted, markedly brings the side of the fuselage to life.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and cut the casting blocks off carefully with a fine saw. Glue them with super glue. You will deal with painting the exhausts with a combination of dark metallic shades and pigments or washes for an effect of burnt metal and soot. Use respiratory protection when sanding resin.
The set contains only the resin exhausts. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
