The Spitfire Mk.18 belongs to the last wave of development of the famous fighter. Against the wartime versions it received a strengthened airframe structure and a greater fuel load, and it is powered by the Griffon V12 engine, which gave the late Spitfires a longer nose and a more massive propeller. The letter e in the designation refers to the type of wing, that is to the set of armament the machine carried.
This is a kit of the aircraft in 1:72 scale intended to be glued and painted. According to the name the package is aimed at machines operating in the Asian theater, so the selection of markings and camouflage schemes keeps to that circle. Anyone will recognize a late Spitfire by its long nose, so it is worth giving time to accurate joining of the fuselage and a clean seam behind the engine. Seat the wing dry, so that the dihedral is symmetrical and the leading edges meet the fuselage without a step. Glaze the cockpit only after varnishing and mask the frames. Apply the camouflage in thin coats and take the transitions between shades so that they stay soft; only then come the decals and the faint soiling from the exhausts.
The set is for collectors of fighters and especially for those mapping the late development of the Spitfire outside the European theater. In the package there are the parts of the kit; paints, glue and tools are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
