The instrument panel, side walls, seat and belts are pre-printed in faithful colors and carry fine raised relief, so the slow painting and photo-etching of a cockpit falls away. The set is intended for the Spitfire Mk.Ia fighter kit by Airfix in 1:72 scale.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia is an early version of the legendary British fighter, famous from the Battle of Britain. Its characteristic elliptical wing carried machine gun armament and, together with a powerful V12 engine, defined the image of one of the best-known aircraft of the Second World War.
The elements are applied as wet decals: the piece is dipped in water and slid into place. Degrease the surface beforehand, settle the piece onto a damp, smooth base and press it down with a soft brush. Keep the softener for classic decals; it would attack this printed surface. Once dry, tie the whole together with a thin matte coat.
This is a modeling accessory, not a standalone kit. The plastic model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
