Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa fighter in 1:72 scale. According to the name the release is aimed at the machines of the Polish squadrons in the Royal Air Force. The model is meant to be glued and painted; the exact contents of the box, including the number of decal schemes, are stated on the box and in the instructions.
The Spitfire Mk.II followed on from the first production Spitfires and differed chiefly in a more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin XII engine and in a cartridge starter. It was built at the large-scale works at Castle Bromwich and reached the squadrons from 1940. The letter a in the designation means a wing with an armament of eight 7.7 mm machine guns - unlike the b version, which also carried cannon. A number of foreign crews flew Spitfires of this period, including Polish units within the structure of the RAF.
Put the kit together dry first - on short-run models it pays to check the seating of the fuselage halves and the mounting of the wing and to level any overhang with a file. Glue with thin plastic cement in small doses. British camouflage of the early 1940s has hard transitions, so masking putty or tape suits rather than freehand spraying. Clear-coat the areas gloss before the decals, use a decal softener and bring the surface into line at the end with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
