Quickboost 1:72 Spitfire PR XI Cameras is a resin set of aerial cameras for a model of the British photo-reconnaissance Spitfire in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from the Quickboost brand, made by Aires, brings faithfully cast aerial cameras for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire PR Mk XI in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers, which brings out the internal equipment of the reconnaissance fuselage, above all on a build with the panels open.
The Supermarine Spitfire PR Mk XI was an unarmed photo-reconnaissance aircraft derived from the Spitfire fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. For the sake of range and speed it had its armament and armor removed and carried the cameras vertically in the rear fuselage behind the cockpit. It was one of the most widely used reconnaissance versions of the Spitfire in the Second World War.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp saw or knife and sand the cut surfaces with your airways protected. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with ordinary plastic cement. Try the fit dry before painting, as resin may call for a little clean-up.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
