An injection-molded plastic kit of a light military car in 1:72 scale from MAC Distribution. The model combines cleanly molded plastic parts with small photo-etched additions. This version captures the car with the roof folded down and the spare wheel stowed inside. The interior includes seats, an instrument panel with photo-etched instruments and a steering wheel, and the cooling grilles are done as photo-etched parts.
The Steyr 1500A was a light field car developed by the Austrian maker Steyr-Daimler-Puch and used by the German army during the Second World War to carry troops and as a staff vehicle. It was built in tens of thousands in the first half of the 1940s and was deployed on every front.
The small scale puts a premium on clean work, so glue the tiny photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the interior before you close the body up. The car is sprayed in a shade of German field gray or dark yellow, and the look is brought to life by picking out the panels, by scuffs and by dusty weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
