A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the British four-engined Short Stirling Mk III bomber in 1:72 scale. It completes the details that cannot be molded in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Short Stirling was the first British four-engined heavy bomber put into service during the Second World War. Four air-cooled Bristol Hercules radial engines powered it. At first glance you will recognize it by the unusually tall main landing gear, because of which the machine stands markedly nose-up on the ground, and by the massive angular fuselage. The Mk III version was a later production form of the type.
Photo-etched metal parts for a Stirling Mk III model in 1:72 scale. Etching allows parts to be made as thin as they could not be molded from plastic, so it suits components on which the thickness of the material is conspicuous on a finished model. The list of parts, their placing and the kit the set is cut for are given by the manufacturer's instructions; check the match with your own model in advance, therefore.
Separate the part from the carrier fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting, or it will bend. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, so that the edge comes out straight along its whole length. Metal is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; apply it with a pin in a minute amount, because any excess creeps into the surrounding engraving. Before gluing and before painting, wash and degrease the parts, as a finish holds poorly over a fingerprint. Give the parts that are not supplied finished in color a base coat intended for metal, otherwise the finish will rub off them in time.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
