A collector model of the German StuG III assault gun in the early Ausf. C and D versions, 1:72 scale. A finished piece for a display case.
Responsibility details are not available.
The StuG III was a German assault gun of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panzer III medium tank. Instead of a rotating turret it had a low fixed superstructure with the gun built into the front plate, so aiming to the side meant turning the whole machine. The compensation was a low silhouette, with which the vehicle hid well in the terrain. The Ausf. C and D versions belong to the early series and still carried a short 7.5 cm gun barrel, intended more for destroying fortifications and firing positions than for fighting tanks.
This is a collector model in 1:72 scale, the usual scale for collections of ground equipment. A vehicle roughly five and a half meters long works out at about seven and a half centimeters, so a whole group of machines fits into one display case and they can be compared with each other. The finish of the model, its markings and the scope of the delivery are stated in the manufacturer's description.
It suits a collector putting together a collection of ground equipment in a single scale, and also anyone who wants a particular machine at home without building and painting. It is supplied as a finished piece for a display case; parts for building, glue and paints do not belong with it, unless stated otherwise.
