A limited collector's edition from IBG models in 1:72 scale. In one package you will find two complete injection-molded kits of early Spitfires, the Mk.I and Mk.II versions. The set is rounded out with photo-etched parts and 3D-printed components (among them cockpit inserts with seats and belts, wheels, exhausts, mirrors and the carburetor air intakes) and it offers a generous choice of color schemes from the period of the Battle of Britain. Masks for the canopy are included as well.
The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the most iconic fighters of the Second World War. The early Mk.I and Mk.II versions were powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12; the Mk.II received the more powerful Merlin XII and a strengthened airframe. It was precisely these variants that carried the main weight of the fighting during the Battle of Britain in 1940, when they defended the British skies against the Luftwaffe. The elegant elliptical wing and outstanding handling made them a legend.
This is a classic injection-molded kit for more experienced modelers. Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and fix the photo-etched and 3D-printed components with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay down a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. The masks supplied make clean masking of the canopy frames easier. Bring out the panel lines and the markings with a wash.
The models are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
