The manufacturer states that the parts are intended for the exterior, the interior and the engine exhaust nozzles. It is precisely the nozzles that are among the places where molded plastic runs into its limits, because the real petals have a thin wall and a regular rhythm that photo-etched metal manages much better. The set is not a kit of an airplane; it is an accessory for a model that you obtain separately. The photo-etched fret is cut for the Zvezda kit.
The T-50 PAK-FA is a Russian single-seat twin-engine fifth-generation fighter aircraft, developed by the Sukhoi design bureau and later accepted under the designation Su-57. The prototype first flew in 2010. The machine is conceived as a multipurpose aircraft for winning air superiority and for attack duties, with shaping that reduces radar reflectivity and with internal weapons bays. Characteristic are the movable forward transition surfaces and the widely spaced engine nacelles.
The photo-etched petals of the nozzles are bent into a circle gradually over a cylindrical object, not by breaking them. Separate the parts with a scalpel against a hard surface and handle them with tweezers. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in a minimal amount. Fit the interior parts before closing the fuselage, while there is access to them. Degrease the metal with alcohol before painting and go over it with a metal primer. The nozzles are usually finished with metallic shades with heat discoloration toward the outlet, which is built up with thin translucent coats, not with one heavy layer.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model of the aircraft itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
