A detailed plastic kit of the rally special Opel Manta 400 in Group B specification in 1:24 scale. Belkits is a Belgian maker that specializes in well-worked models of competition cars. The box holds injection-molded plastic parts, photo-etched metal additions, waterslide decals and masking templates for painting; the modeler provides the assembly and the paints.
The Opel Manta 400 was a Group B rally and racing special created by reworking the production Manta B coupe, and it started competing in 1984. It was powered by a front-mounted four-cylinder engine with a 16-valve head and drove the rear wheels. It was among the last successful rear-wheel-drive cars of the Group B era and appeared in the world and European championships in the hands of drivers such as Jimmy McRae and Guy Fréquelin.
Use liquid cement for plastic on the plastic parts and sand and clean up the body joints carefully before painting. Spray the body with an airbrush over a primer, and finish the rally gloss with a clear coat over the sponsor decals and the race numbers. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint and fit the roll cage, the dashboard and the seats with their harnesses before you close up the interior.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
