This furniture set from the Czech maker Brengun is intended for diorama builders who want to give a scene a lived-in dimension. A table with chairs settles the corner of a hangar, a workshop nook, a readiness station or the outdoor area in front of a building. It is not an airplane kit or equipment for a particular type of machine but a universal prop.
Machinery on its own tells only half the story. It is only the objects that belong to people, a table, chairs, a mug set down, a map spread out, that suggest someone is here or has just left. A table also works as a natural stage for the other small items you have in reserve, and it helps fill empty areas of the base without drawing attention away from the main model. Because it is generic furniture it is not tied to one period, and you will use it on the next scene too.
The parts are small and flat, so separate them by cutting on a hard surface and handle them with tweezers. With furniture, squareness is the key: glue the legs of the table and the chairs on a flat board so that the assembly does not rock, and make use of the fact that super glue still gives you a fraction of a second to align things. Degrease and prime the surface before painting. In this scale wood is best captured with a light base coat covered by a thin brown wash, which creates an uneven tone and a suggestion of grain. Leave metal legs or a frame in a darker shade and run a dry brush carefully along the edges. Finally secure the placement on the base with a drop of glue so that the furniture does not wander around the scene.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
