This item is a sheet of modeling decals in 1:72 scale from Print Scale, not an aircraft model. You use it to mark a finished model of the Thunderbolt in British service. Check which particular machines the sheet covers and how many schemes it offers against the illustration of the sheet on the packaging.
Thunderbolt was the British designation of the American Republic P-47 fighter-bomber. The Mk.II corresponds to machines with a bubble canopy and a cut-down rear fuselage, whereas the Mk.I had the older arrangement with a raised spine behind the cockpit. Power came from a two-row Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine with a turbocharger, which gave the aircraft a long range and a high load capacity. The Royal Air Force deployed these machines mainly in the Southeast Asian theater, where they served above all for attacks on ground targets.
Work only on a finished paint job. Give the area under the decal a coat of clear gloss varnish, or a silver haze may appear. Release the decal in lukewarm water, slide it from the backing paper into place and blot the remaining water away with a piece of paper towel. On broken areas use a decal softener and let the film dry undisturbed, even if it wrinkles for a while. Finally unify the whole model with a matte clear coat, so that the glossy patches do not stand out.
