A printed area with the motif of the Turkish Eskisehir air base, prepared for finished models in 1:72 scale. The product belongs neither among kits nor among accessories to be glued. It is a surface that gives a model a setting at once and replaces the laborious building of a concrete apron out of filler and plaster.
Eskisehir in west-central Anatolia is one of the key bases of the Turkish Air Force and has served as a main jet base since the 1950s. Generations of combat aircraft have passed through it, and for long years it was associated above all with Phantoms, which served there even after a deep update. The base appears repeatedly in photographs from exercises and in modeling projects with Turkish markings.
Eskisehir is not just an airfield. The city is also home to companies linked with the Turkish aviation industry, including the manufacture and maintenance of jet engines, and the base has therefore long served as a repair facility through which machines have passed after deep updates. For a modeler that means the area also suits a scene with equipment under maintenance.
It aims at builders of Turkish aircraft, at collectors of less usual national markings and at modelers whose repertoire lacks something other than American and Western European aprons. The motif also suits machines of other countries that visited Eskisehir during joint exercises.
