An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib ground attack fighter in 1:72 scale from Academy. The model captures the bulky low-wing machine with its massive radiator under the engine, with engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and clear canopy parts; underwing stores are usually included. Check the exact contents and markings against the particular edition.
The Typhoon entered service as an interceptor, but it made its name above all as a ground attack aircraft for the direct support of ground units. It was powered by the powerful Napier Sabre H-block engine and carried rockets or bombs under the wings. It played a crucial role after the Normandy landings, where it destroyed German vehicles, tanks and transport hubs. The Mk.Ib version was the main combat form of the type.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them down. Paint the cockpit interior before you close up the fuselage. Apply a gloss clear coat before the decals; complete the typical RAF camouflage with invasion stripes with a wash into the panel lines and wear matching intensive ground attack service. Assemble and paint the underwing stores separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
