The abbreviation FSV stands for Fire Support Vehicle, that is the variant intended for artillery observer teams and for fire control. The Stryker is a family of wheeled armored vehicles of the US Army in the 8x8 layout, derived from the LAV III design. It entered service at the beginning of the twenty-first century and gave rise to a range of specialized versions — carrier, engineer, medical, reconnaissance and command. The M1131 version serves artillery observers: it carries observation and sighting equipment, communications gear and a workstation from which fire support is directed and coordinated. Outwardly it differs from an ordinary carrier above all in its deployable sensor mast and its enlarged antenna fit. The vehicle keeps the characteristic tall hull, the eight-wheel chassis and the option of add-on armor.
With wheeled vehicles, take care over the chassis and the tires — they are visible and they are usually the first thing that betrays haste. Paint the wheels separately and fit them only after the hull has been painted. Bring out the engraved detail with a thin wash, add careful lighter highlights on the edges and put dust pigments on the lower part of the hull and on the wheels. Glue the antennas and the fine sensors on last, so that they do not come off during handling. Leave the glass of the optics and the periscopes glossy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
