An accessory set in 1:72 scale with American AN-M57A1 aerial bombs of the 250-pound weight class. The number of pieces is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AN-M57A1 is an American general-purpose aerial bomb from the Second World War. It belongs to the 250-pound weight class, that is roughly 113 kilograms; the number here marks the weight, not a caliber. Bombs of this class were the most common load on tactical aircraft: they are large enough to do the job against soft and semi-hardened targets and light enough for a machine to carry several. The shape is unmistakable, the body being completed by a conical tail extension with a cruciform fin assembly that cannot be missed on a model.
The set adds external stores to a model in 1:72 scale. Bombs tend to be handled in simplified form in a kit, or to be missing from the arrangement altogether; a ready-made store therefore saves work and at the same time makes the shape more accurate. How many pieces the package holds and what further parts, such as suspension lugs or fuzes, go with them is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
The parts are not polystyrene and cement for plastic kits has no effect on them; use super glue in a minute amount. Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down so that the shape of the bomb body is preserved. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Try the fit dry first, because racks are narrow at this scale and a bomb has to hang parallel to the axis of the aircraft.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
