Plastic kit of the American Vought F4U-1D Corsair carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Forces of Valor. The model is conceived as easy to build and contains decals for American service; typically it is tied to a scene at Okinawa in the spring of 1945.
The F4U Corsair was among the most successful American fighters of the Second World War. It was made unmistakable by its inverted gull wing and by the powerful radial engine that gave it high speeds. The F4U-1D version was the fighter and fighter-bomber variant that made its mark in the late stages of the war in the Pacific, both from carrier decks and from land bases.
Thanks to the lower part count it is a quick build suitable even for the less experienced. Use thin cement on the plastic and watch the clean fit of the canopy and the landing gear. For a faithful look, lay down the base shade, put the decals onto a gloss base and even the whole thing out with a matte varnish; a subtle emphasis on the panel lines will give the model depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
