It is an amphibious wheeled vehicle of the Marine Corps with a rotating turret mounting a 25 mm cannon. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts and a decal sheet; it builds up as a classic plastic kit.
The LAV-25 is a light armored vehicle of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), derived from the Swiss Piranha design. Its eight-wheel 8x8 chassis gives it high mobility, and the vehicle is also amphibious and can move through water. The main armament is a 25 mm automatic cannon in the turret, backed up by machine guns. The vehicle serves for reconnaissance and fire support and has been committed in a number of modern conflicts since the end of the twentieth century.
With an armored vehicle it pays to assemble and paint the running gear with the wheels first, and to close the hull only afterwards. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Apply primer before painting and lay the modern camouflage or a single shade on with an airbrush in thin coats. A dark wash into the details, light edge highlighting and pigments for dust effects on the wheels and the underside of the vehicle will give a convincing look.
