This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the V-100 wheeled armored car in the XM-706 E2 version used by the US Air Force. It is a short-run model with delicate parts that will be appreciated by modelers with experience of building small military subjects.
The V-100 Commando was a four-wheeled armored personnel carrier with an amphibious capability, developed in the 1960s. The version for the US Air Force (XM-706 E2) had no conventional turret but an open weapons platform with low armor walls and gun mounts for machine guns. It served to guard the extensive perimeters of air bases and runways and was first deployed at the end of the 1960s in Southeast Asia.
With a short-run mold, take care to separate the small parts from the sprues carefully and to dry fit them. Use a thin cement on the plastic and paint with an airbrush after a base coat of primer. A patina rightly comes into its own here: dark washes into the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the chassis and the lower hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
