This kit from ACE captures the American Cadillac Gage V-150 Commando (4x4) wheeled armored car in the variant with a two-man turret fitted with a 20mm cannon. The model is supplied as an injection-molded plastic kit with a photo-etched sheet and a decal sheet added. The ACE range of short-run kits is intended for more experienced modelers, who will appreciate careful dry-fitting of the parts.
The Commando is a family of light wheeled armored vehicles with a hull resistant to bullets and mines. The V-150 version brings together features of the earlier V-100 and V-200 types and it was committed with a number of armies and police forces all over the world. The vehicle served as a reconnaissance asset, a carrier and fire support; in the variant with the 20mm rapid-fire cannon it filled the role of a lightly armed combat vehicle.
Short-run plastic calls for cleaning up the flash and dry-fitting the parts before gluing. Deal with the chassis and the turret before closing the hull. We recommend a primer undercoat, spraying with an airbrush and finishing with washes and pigments for dusty and muddy effects that match how the vehicle was used.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
